Not compatible with other Visors |
Why would anyone who already owns a Visor upgrade? To what? All their accessories wouldn't work, so $400 for Edge, $70 for another GoType!, $40 for another case, etc, etc..

Are Handspring users power users or bauhaus lovers? |
Personally, I don't think the styling of the PDA matters to me at all. I find the new Casio to be acceptable. The price is atrocious and it clearly looks off-balance with a large Springboard (and I own the SpringPort, Minstrel, MiniJam)... just forget it.
In my mind, Handspring only has three PDAs I would EVER consider - Prism, Platinum, and the everlasting Deluxe.

Out of the box backward compatibility |
The Edge has the "edge" over the m500 in on area for certain - out of the box backward compatibility with older springboards. That's something that Palm V & Vx users with money invested in V periphials are begrudged about right now. Also, the Edge looks new! There was actually some innovation in the design. The body style is not just a rehashed Palm V.

Same color as a Powerbook G4? |
I fail to see the cosmic signicance as to why this is an advantage. My Tosihba is gun metal grey and I would never list such a Pro.
I have ordered my Palm 505 and will be content to have it's color form for the additional 50 bucks.
Don't get me wrong, Handspring and the Edge seem to be a fine product but the vibrating alarm is a definite plus for me, not just a flashing L.E.D.
Also, I have to have flash ROM which I'm surprised hasn't been even considered by Handspring as significant.

Handspring losing Edge |
I agree with nd93. MORE memory (32 MB), PUT SOME COLOR and SAME case as Edge. Handspring better watch out, my next PDA may be the 505

Palm m505 |
What is Visor thinking? Palm is coming out with the thin Palm m505 in May. 3 more months and Visor has got nothing to compete against it. Uh oh. I am still not willing to downgrade from my Prism.
To Handspring. MORE MEMORY, THIN and COLOR. Then you have a WINNER

No Module slot - Now its a Palm. |
Without the Module Slot to allow carrying with module all we have now is another Palm V with another add-on gadget like they have. I say Handspring failed badly. Maybe with 32MB I would buy it but without the handiness of my Eyemodule in my Visor now I probably wouldn't since the new 16MB module now gives me 24MB with no form change. Guys, stick with your Visors forget the Edge.

Not worth the outlay |
When I upgrade, color is probably going to be THE deciding factor. The idea on a non-integrated springboard adaptor is ludicrous. Nice looks, but certainly not worth the price.

Nice, but...... |
PROS:I have to agree that the Ede IS nice. The Palm V slim form factor is very desireable. Especally if you want to get everything into your briefcase! The external springboard slot is the perfect idea for those that have modules, but don't use them constantly. The multi-function power button makes the Tale Light needless.
CONS: COLOR! 16MB! Personally, I liked the IR port on the end of the unit al la the Palm IIIe. Stylus - If I'm going to pay tha much for a monochrome PDA, you'd better AT LEAST spend part of the savings over a color version on a super wammajamma stylus!
