This would leap off my store's shelves |
I've sold hundreds of Handsprings
my chain--a major reseller--started
stocking them a year ago. Customers
and I often engage in "Where next?"
conversations about what can be done
with Handspring's Springboard module
slot.
The MatchBook Drive (especially if
relabeled with Handspring label) would
literally leap off my store's shelves.
Customers are always RAM hungry.
What I'd really like to see is a new
Handspring which uses wafer-thin 64MB
SmartMedia card as RAM while leaving
Springboard slot for functional
uses.

InnoPocket not so cheap |
As the maker of the MatchBookDrive I am clearly biased, but look closer at the InnoPocket adapter advertised on the UK site and you will see that it will cost $55 US to get it in the States, compared to $45 for the MatchBookDrive plus the software.

Awesome! |
I posted a question about whether anyone was going to come out with this, since it seemed logical, and Kopsis pointed me to their web site. The instructions were free (how nice!) and easy to follow. The storage is so versatile and great.

Sounds great! |
I have plenty of CF cards of various brands, but the Kodak 16 that came with my camera is said not to work, but it's the one used in the photos. What's the deal?

mircodrive luvin' |
the matchbookdrive isn't compatible with the IBM mircodrives because the microdrives require 500mA peak current and the Springboard slot is designed to provide 100mA peak. I was wondering if it would be possible to add a single AA or AAA batery to the adapter to allow the use of the microdrive. i don't know much about CF but wouldn't this also decrease the visor battery drain while using a normal compact falsh card.

no microdrive |
i should have guessed it.. now i have an ibm microdrive and I can use it in my digital camera and in my mp3 player (NEX II from frontierlabs) and I can't use it in my visor. it would be soooo cool to see the photos from my 3.3 megapixel thingie on my visor, or do other stuff with my microdrive :-/
