The MemPlug is an ideal example of how a Memory Adapter for the Visor should work. Patrick Lin of Portable Innovation has clued me into some upcoming software applications designed with the MemPlug in mind. They have a modified CSpotRun Document Reader that will let you read your DOC files directly off a SmartMedia Card. This is a great solution, especially when combined with a SmartMedia reader for your Desktop Computer. I used a SanDisk USB SmartMedia Reader to transfer some large docs and some large movies to my SmartMedia card. Even though there isn't an "AutoMover" to juggle files back and forth between my Visor's internal memory and the SmartMedia card, it's not a problem if there are applications that can talk directly to the card's storage
memory.
With a complete and powerful suite of tools, a picture viewer, movies, backup, the MemPlug is a killer tool for your Visor. If you love and use SmartMedia cards already, it's a no-brainer. If you use CF Cards as your primary storage, you can always switch over to SmartMedia, or just wait and hope that the CompactFlash solutions will catch up to the MemPlug's Springboard capabilities and robust software suite. Either way, I recommend the MemPlug highly.
