PDAs in Y2K
C|Net has this article about handhelds and the growth that is expected in 2000. 1999 was the year that PDAs went from geek status to mainstream. Innovations like the Springboard in the Visor shows the "focus on extending handheld computing features past the typical organizer functions."
One thing that caught my eye was the last sentence. "In addition to the software upgrade, 2000 will be a hot year for handhelds: Both Palm and Handspring have initial public offerings planned for early next year." Handspring has not confirmed this, so consider a Handspring IPO a rumor for now.
