Did you already have a Palm PDA when you won the Visor
Deluxe?
"I do own another PDA. I’ve been using a Palm IIIx
for the last 5 or 6 months. Right now I’m using the Visor, although I am keeping
my IIIx synced for the time being."
What
is your favorite thing about your Visor Deluxe, except the fact that you’re
one of the few who actually has one?
"Well, I do have to admit that it is pretty cool to
be fortunate enough to be one of the few that have one in advance, but that
will change soon with the announcement of the first wave of Visors shipping.
Probably the coolest thing about the Visor Deluxe is the 8MB of RAM. I have
a Palm IIIx, and I was always worrying about having enough space (I used it
for most everything and averaged < 350k free at all times)."
What is your least favorite thing about the Visor?
"My least favorite thing is the stylus. It is pretty
obvious that Handspring put in a tremendous amount of effort to make a very
high quality product (easily as high quality a unit as the Palms). It is just
a shame that such a poorly crafted, lightweight plastic stylus was included.
The other gripe I have is that you cannot properly use the USB cradle on PCs
with Win95B. Handspring’s drivers require Win98. This is not a problem for me
at home, but I also need to sync my Visor in the office. Now I will have to
install a clean copy of 98 on my office PC."
So, for those of us who haven’t gotten a Visor yet,
will it be worth the wait?
"It will be well worth the wait for all. Especially
those upgrading from older Palm models."
