Good color & faster performance |
Overall well worth the wait, but with 2 draw backs.
1.) Cost ; at $399.00 it would be a no brainer.
2.) Modulessoftware that take advantage of color ; wait & see.

Speed is nice |
Liberty (the GameBoy emulator) works decent without overclocking! No more worries about frying my Palm :-) The color is also beautiful. I only wish it was a little thinner/lighter.

Little Loyalty to Customers |
I believe Handspring has just missed an opportunity. I asked about the possibility of an upgrade path, tading in your VDx for a more powerful model.
Many companies are doing it, such as AT&T wireless, Gateway computers, etc.
Here's is Handspring's response:
"Thank you for your email. We are not implementing a trade-in/upgrade program. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have further questions, please reply to this email.
Thank you,
Handspring CustomerCare"
I won't be looking to Handspring when it's time to upgrade my PDA. I currently have a VDx, Eyemodule, Stowaway keyboard, Back-up Module, 2MB Memory upgrade, etc.
Instead of reinvesting monies in technology I trusted, I'll keep what I have until it's time for a complete overhaul... at which time, I'll find another PDA.

It's awesome, color in the palm of your hand. No pun intented. |
I love reading my Avantgo, but I hated it when there were low light levels with the VDX. But now even with the brightness all the way down, it is easy on the eyeballs.

Use chrome for better display |
I'm liking the Prism so far but I just switched to an ipaq Pocket PC and have not decided which I will go with. Hard to give up that ipaq screen. I would storngly recceomnd using chrome to change the background color on the Prism. That white background on the Prism is too bright and shows the pixels too well. Pale blue is working much beter for me.

Very Cool |
I originally wanted this for the battery more than the color. But, the color has really impressed me. I'm very pleased with my purchase even though I can't yet use my eyemodule with it (which is the battery hog I was wanting to satisfy with the rechargable).

Prism Rocks |
With more apps coming out in October for the PalmOS than ever came out for WinCE devices I am extremely happy that I decided on the Prism. As mentioned in the review it is hard to use in direct sunlight and the fact that the snap on cover does NOT snap onto the back is annoying. The beautiful colour and speed make up for these shortcomings however. I can't wait for more 16-bit apps to be released like Zap!2016.
BTW, if anyone has any suggestions for cases that are large enough for the prism AND have room for the visorPhone or Geode I'd love to hear of them. I've gone with a Body Glove universal for now, and figure I can leave the top unzipped if nothings available by launch of either of those, but I'd like to see a case for the prism w/ springboard modules in mind.

Very nice |
This is a GREAT PDA! Although there aren't many apps available yet that take advantage of the 16-bit color, it's only a matter of time. The only thing I dislike is that, despite the 33-MHz chip, speed does not seem substantially better than my Visor Deluxe, possibly due to the more resource-intensive 16-bit color screen. In particular, I found that Liberty games were not faster than on my Visor Deluxe (maybe even a touch slower), and I still needed both Afterburner and QuickBits to get good performance. Overall, though I still think it's the best handheld so far (now where's the video projector module?) ;)
