not a scratch, thanks to PDA Panache |
The product description at the PDA Panache web site is accurate. This stylus has beautiful weighting and the ridges actually work. The orange tip is effective (I wouldn't mind if the orange part were smaller). Ingress and egress are a snap. I quickly got used to inserting the stylus with the appropriate gentleness (or at the correct angle) so that it would latch snugly or tightly. (Plain dropping the stylus into a straight upright Visor causes the stylus to fit tightly; the tight fit is suitable for travel.)
My only complaint is that PDA Panache didn't come out with it earlier. I had already accumulated a number of fine scratches on the screen using the stock stylus, but the PDA Panache stylus has contributed zero scratches.

Perfect Fit! |
This is the perfect replacement for the defective stock stylus that ships with the visor. It fits perfectly into the silo. People who say it doesn't or that it will intefere with springboards perhaps don't know what a springboard looks like. I have one and it works fine. It is _slightly_ harder to remove this stylus from the silo but it is also _slightly_ easier to put into the silo. So it's a wash. It looks cool. Has great weight. The orange tip (which I thought I'd hate at first) is a wonderful visual aid. All-in-all, it's perfect.

Good weight and feel- great tip |
The weight and feel are great, the tip is superb- very smooth, maybe teflon or a similar material? Jury's still out on the fact that it sticks out beyond the case when it is in the silo. This does make it easier to remove, but might make it susceptible to being caught on something too.
4 and one/half (out of five) stars.

Feels good to write with, fits perfectly, EasyWrite tip is great. |
I love my custom deluxe! I think I got one from the second batch, as I do not have the getting stuck problems others have had - mine goes in perfectly, and comes out perfectly. The extrusion of the top of the stylus is no big deal, it sticks out _very_ little, and makes it in fact a good deal easier to remove and insert. It goes in very smoothly, and stays there until you try removing it. Writing feels really good, especially with the orange tip. It's sort of a waxy tip, so it doesn't scratch the screen noticably at all so far. The reset pin is really nice, although I wish the cap to it locked into place, minor annoyance of it coming unscrewed partially when removing the stylus and the such sometimes. I just hope the extruding tip doesn't cause any problems with Springboards.

Very substantial feeling |
I like the feel of the PDA Panache stylus. I was surprised to find that it protruded from the top like it does, however I don't have any problems with it doing so.

It simply doesn't fit |
I have used PSA Panache styli since my first Pilot. I really hoped that their Visor stylus would fill the bill because I have been unable to get the Premium 5-pack I ordered from Handspring.
Unfortunately, the stylus protrudes from the top of the silo on the Visor and gets caught in my pocket. Further, the fit is a bit too snug. A REAL disappointment.
I decided not to return the stylus because it IS well-balanced and quite comfortable to use. Instead, I will use it as a desk stylus. Now about it rolling around...

Worthwhile Purchase |
Plus: High marks for usability re: fit, feel and balance. I find the fact the head protrudes slightly a plus for easy access/location.
Minus: Head could use a surface with better grip, e.g., rubberized cap, for quicker access.
Unknown: Since I have not seen a Springboard module, I do not know how compatible the stylus is with future Springboards.

Sorry, but it does not fit correctly |
I love the feel and quality, but it does not fit properly as the head sticks up at the top. The official review should have been more clear about the problems this will cause with some upcoming Springboard modules. Any replacment stylus will have to NOT stick out any at the top or it will interfere with future Springboards. So, for this reason I returned my PDA Panache Stylus. Hey, would you settle for a replacment steering wheel for your car that got in the way of the door closing???
If in the future they actually make a replacement that has the same head design as the original, I would buy it due to their very high quality.

fits well, feels great. |
weighted well, great stylus - functionally same as their palm3 model with two downsides. it isn't as easy to get out and it rolls. it is weighted a bit better than the palm3 model, tho. never seen a better replacement stylus.
