Palm today announced two new handhelds: the m500 and m505. The m500 is $399, has 8 MB of memory, and will compete with the Visor Edge.
The m505 will compete with the Visor Prism. Here are some features of the m505:- 8 MB RAM
- 4.5" x 3.1" x 0.5"
- Weighs 4.9 oz.
- 16-bit color screen
- Battery life of 2 weeks on an internal Lithium-Polymer battery
- MMC expansion slot
- $449
- Order starting Monday but will not ship until April
This will definitely keep Handspring on their toes. Hopefully Hawkins and co. will have a response to the m505 at PC Expo 2001 in late June. Otherwise it's going to be a long summer for the company.
