Tired of waiting for the HandyGPS? GeoDiscovery announced today that its Geod-a Springboard module will be available this summer. The Geod-a will integrate Internet and GPS functionality.

Here are some of the features from the press release:

  • Fast, interactive vector maps with rich content linked to points and areas of interest.
  • The latest in GPS technology, including support of the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) providing 10 times the accuracy of standard GPS.
  • An integrated electronic compass for accurate directions, even when you're standing still or have no GPS coverage.
  • Integration with the Palm Computing Platform applications such as Date Book, Address Book and To Do List. Enables items in those applications to be viewed on the map.
  • Two removable memory card slots. Each is capable of holding up to 64MB of map data and destination content.
  • Provides tools for creating and publishing unique location-specific, geo-encoded information for business or personal use.
The Geod-a will cost $250 but has better integration with the Visor. Can't wait to try it out.
