We have heard the constant rumors of somebody making a color Palm-compatible for almost a year now. A recent email sent to Palm developers had the following statement:
"Color is coming! ... In the spring of 2000, one of the hardware manufacturers that makes products based on the Palm OS will release a device with a color display!"
The email never says exactly who is making the color device, referring to the manufacturer as a "licensee."
Now the big question: who is making the device? There have been a ton of Apple-Palm rumors lately. Let's not forget that Palm said that Handspring and Sony "are committed to bringing color and new media features to the Palm OS." We shall see.
