New CFO for Handspring

Handspring announced today that William (Bill) Slakey, as a new VP and Chief Financial Officer, effective September 30.

Some of Slakey's History from the press release:

Slakey was most recently Chief Financial Officer at WJ Communications, a leading RF semiconductor company. Prior to that, Slakey was CFO at SnapTrack, a QUALCOMM company that pioneered the industry's most advanced GPS-based wireless tracking system for pinpointing wireless phones, PDAs, pagers and other wireless devices. Slakey has over 16 years of experience in financial management, including a senior controller position at 3COM's Palm Computing Division and various financial roles spanning ten years at Apple Computer.

Hopefully Slakey can help turnaround Handspring's low stock price.

I want to also apologize for the lack of VisorCentral content lately. I went on vacation recently and missed all of the excitement, of the, erm -- well sorry about the lack of updates anyway. It's just that there is more news for TreoCentral than VisorCentral lately. I will do better!
